Readers Project – Barbara’s Charming Charlie Quilt
Note from Alanda Craft. – Barbara’s comment gave me a chuckle. Like a lot of us, I can so identify with what she is saying.
Those of you who follow our blog, know that Barbara makes gorgeous quilts for her family and friends, and this flannel layer cake quilt is no exception. The fabric is just beautiful I’m a fan of purple and green together so this one really appeals to me.

I had a flannel layer cake with purple flowers. Chrystal at the Clover Patch suggested I try this new pattern.
I thought I’d give it a go. I don’t like little, fiddly pieces so this one drove me nuts. Several times I thought about chucking it but I can be a stubborn cuss so I finished it. It will be nice and warm during the winter.
What happened to the pattern when I was finished? It went into the trash.

I do like how Barbara has used the contrasting fabrics for the borders.
The backing fabric really makes the quilt pop. I have to say that the end result is really lovely.
