Readers Project: Debbie’s Black and White Baby Rag Quilt Blanket
Note from Alanda Craft: Don’t you just love Debbie’s black and white baby rag quilt blanket. ‘Love you to the Moon and Back’ was my grandaughter Ayla’s favorite books when she was a child, and it’s such a lovely sentiment to use on a baby blanket. The black border really makes the baby quilt pop. And what a great idea of making burp cloths using the fabric scraps. Thank you for sharing your photos with us Debbie. Your baby quilt and burp cloths will certainly be a welcome and practical gift to the parents to be.
Debbie Says:
This baby blanket needed to be gender-neutral as the couple chose not to know the sex of their baby prior to birth. They had decided to go with a black and white nursery. I also made coordinated burp cloths using cloth diapers and fabric scraps from the blanket.
Debbie has used a gingham look fabric on the back of her baby quilt and it tones in so nicely with the front fabric.
The burp cloths have been appliqued using the fabric from the quilt. Such a great idea.
