Paula’s Jelly Roll Quilt Gets Quilted
Some time ago we did a tutorial on how to make a Jelly Roll Quilt. Well the finished top sat in the cupboard for some months.
One day when we got together with our friend Chris, the Longarm Quilter from Sew n Sew Sisters and during the course of the conversation we started chatting about how many quilt tops we had that needed finishing. Chris suggested that we let her quilt it for us, she has an awesome 15′ longarm quilting machine.
Well, this really appealed to us as, if and when we got around to quilting the top, we would probably have just ditched stitched it.
Here is the quilt top before quilting:
So the other day we popped over to Chris’s to pick up the quilt and she has done an amazing job. We both love the pattern she chose. It has turned a simple Jelly Roll quilt top into something really stylish.
I had to wait for Paula to finish binding the quilt before I could show you how great the finished quilt looks.
For the binding, she chose a rather nice complimentary fabric from our stash. and I think it just adds the finishing touch.
Here is the finished quilt:
- Detail of the quilting. As I said before we both love this design. It has made such a difference to a simple Jelly Roll Quilt.
- The back looks equally awesome.
