Readers Project: Mike’s Baby Quilt -The Binding Tutorial works!!!

Note from Alanda Craft: Awesome! the ‘Table Runner that Grew’.  You will remember Mike’s previous quilting projects from Christmas when he made those two gorgeous table runners – the Christmas Table Runner and the Blue and Silver Table Runner. Well, he has progressed to making his first quilt. Don’t you just love it?

Half square triangles always look good, so that’s a good base to start with. I love the colour combinations that Mike has used and the black binding and linear quilting just finish it off nicely.

And how about that funky backing, it ties in so nicely with the colors on the front. You can see our ‘How to Machine Bind a Quilt” here. And if you need help calculating how much binding you need, check out this link.

Thank you for sharing your project with us Mike, and for your lovely comments. We think you have done an awesome job.

Mike Says:
My first quilted pieces were done at the wonderful Youtube instructions you created on non binding quilts. Well, I decided to do a simple half-square triangle table runner- that ended up a baby blanket. Decided it was time to try binding… and of course, turned to Alanda Craft on youtube! What awesome instruction. You truly make me feel like I can do anything (as long as you guide me through!). Thank you for your clear direction. It’s like having a good friend there helping you.
