At long last, we have our ScanNCut DX machine. It took a while but it is here and we have already recorded a ScanNCut DX Unboxing video and a ScanNCut DX Overview video, so check them out if you haven’t already done so. And now it’s time for a demo of the machine.

The Getting Started guide is it for this machine but it is well set out and we had no trouble following along. Mind you, we have been using the ScanNCut 1 & 2 models so it may be easier for us than someone who has never used the machine before.
We decided to film our very first cut so we were hoping it would all go to plan. We have been using ScanNCut machines for years now, so we know that isn’t always the case.
Fortunately, it went beautifully. The new auto feature worked superbly and cut exactly how it should as we followed the Getting Started guide.
So far, I am liking it but we have heard that some people are having issues with mats not be recognized by the machine even though it initially did. We haven’t had that problem as yet, but it is still early stages yet.

Hi – watched the first couple of tutorials on the DX225. they were great, but your site doesn’t let me do the “Thumbs Up” or subscribe. . . Hate to have to go out to UTube and do a search so that I can give you a BIG THUMBS UP and subscribe. Will probably find you out there someday soon, but just thought I’d let you know that you might be missing some of us viewers.

You can subscribe to our YouTube channel by hovering with your mouse over the round icon in the top left corner of the video. A pop-up will appear with a subscribe button. Unfortunately there isn’t the ability to upvote on an embedded video.

I did the box as my first cut. It cut completely though my standard mat in several places. I don’t know what to do before I try a second time. Calling Brother was no help.

That is so frustrating. Some people have said that they have placed duct tape over the cuts on the back of their mat. We haven’t tried this and so can’t vouch for it, but it may help you out. Before you cut out another project, my suggestion would be to change the settings and do a test cut first. Doing a test cut lets you see exactly how deep and clean the cut will be. Sometimes you may need to keep changing the settings and doing multiple test cuts, but it’s worth it.
