In this tutorial we show you how we print on tissue paper using an ink jet printer.
This is a medium that we really enjoy working with when we are creating some of our journaling projects. Tissue paper makes an awesome background for scrapbooking or art journal projects.
We use plain tissue paper which is readily available from the $2 shops.
Believe me, you are going to love the endless possibilities in using images printed on tissue paper for your projects. Using tissue paper is a great art journal background technique.

Thank you for this! I have been looking everywhere to find out if I could do this, it makes personalizing the tissue paper so much easier !

Happy we were able to help Sarah. đ

Love the idea of printing on tissue paper, but my inkjet printer rear feed always seems to scrunch up the tissue paper as it is feeding the paper in. I am using Hallmark wrapping tissue paper, is this correct or should I be using something else? Is there a trick to this, or is my printer just being contrary? Thanks!
Alanda Craft says
I am sorry to hear you are having a problem with this, Lori. The only thing I can think of is that tissue paper isn’t sticking properly on to the printer paper. Maybe try a lightweight cardstock and see if that works. Other than that I am not sure what else to suggest.

Any chance you can re-post the link to the video?

Here is a link to the video on YouTube Karen https://youtu.be/2wDrooMVYVo. You may have an ad blocker installed and that may be why you can’t see it on the website.

Will this technique work with a laser printer?
Alanda Craft says
I haven’t used this technique on a laser printer Dawn. I’m not sure that a wet medium like spray adhesive would good to use with laser printer. You would probably be better using tape to adhere the tissue paper to the carrier paper. There are lots of videos on youtube on how to do that.
