How often have you looked at your stash of lovely souvenir and pretty tea towels ( dish towels) and thought “I wish I could do something with these as they are too lovely to use simply to dry the dishes”. Well, we have a tutorial that will show you how to make a tote bag using just 3 tea towels or dish towels.
You can have a new tea towel tote bag ready in a short amount of time. So there is no need to leave those lovely tea towels languishing in the cupboard or drawer any longer.
The step by step method we take you through shows just how quick and easy a 3 tea towel tote bag is to make.

Hello, thank you for the video tutorial! Am off to look for nice tea towels!
Beatrice (from France).
Alanda says
Just remember to check that the pattern will look good on both sides of the bag, Beatrice. I have some beautiful floral tea towels but they are not suitable because they have one large flower pattern and it loses its effect when it’s folded in half.
I am sure you will have a gorgeous array to choose from over there in France.

I have made 2 of these bags just love them and making 2 more now.

I hope you will share photos of your next bags with us Daisy. Loved the first two you made, they look great.

You make me miss my sweet mum so much by the calm, clear and precise way you pin, sew, turn bag inside out, and make it all come out so beautifully.
And although I have made hundreds of bags, never have I made one so easily put together and sensible!
Always boxed and reinforced bottoms, which I do as fast as possible in order to get to stencilling some nice farmyard design on it!
Soon I will, Godwilling, be cutting my own stencils from my own designs with the Brother Scanncut you so generously advised me to buy!! I am trying to learn using the Scanncut in a slow and precise way, not my usual over-eager and stumbling over my own impatience as usual. So, I have to thank you again for calming me down with your sweet way of doing things, the way my mum would have done!!!
This bag-idea will allow me to get the bags done quicker and get to the delicious stencilling sooner, as well as having a welcome change in pattern design! Thanks!!
I am the same age now as you are, (or older) and still rush through things so eagerly and impatiently that I really enjoyed your calm influence!
Thanks and thanks again!
Love your videos and tutes.
Take care!
Just subscribed as well, and hope you really lit a candle and opened a bottle of Champagne!

I am enjoying your tutorials, I am a novice with sewing, but cant wait to dive in and start making some of your bags!!
Do yo have a tutorial for a cross the body or shoulder bag that I can sew (the easy version) please?
Thank you to you lovely ladies.
Alanda says
We don’t have a cross the body bag Elizabeth, but some of our tote bags can be used as shoulder bags. Here is a link to the bag tutorials we have /category/sewing-projects/bag-tutorials/

Hi, thought this might be good for me to do while recovering from surgery but just cannot get any tutorial info here. ?When scrolling down it doesn’t seem to be there. Help please. And any other little easy sew projects would also be helpful for me to do to pass the time in recovery from brain surgery. Thank you.
Alanda Craft says
Sorry to say Sheila, but this one was done back in the early days when we were just starting out and there are no written instructions, only the video tutorial. We do have quite a lot of quick and easy projects on the site that do have written tutorials as well as videos. We wish you all the very best for your recovery from surgery. 🙂
