As many of you are already aware, we are big fans of the Brother ScanNCut, however we also have a Sizzix Big Shot machine, which we love. It’s an awesome machine for the price and it can cut through a lot of materials that the ScanNCut might struggle with.

We used a Sizzix butterfly die in the test that had a number of different pieces as we wanted to test to see how well it would cut through both simple and more intricate patterns.
The Result?
Well, most worked great but a few didn’t work quite as well. I think that running it through a second time might have done the trick with some of them.
Some materials needed a helping hand from a pair of scissors just to finish them where the knife didn’t quite cut through.

Are you referring to the Gemini Multi Media dies? If yes, we haven’t tried them ourselves so not too sure if they would work with the Sizzix.

I personally have cut pop cans that were flat and single layer. My sizzix made great earrings with them.

Can the sizzix cut the stamp sheets made by scan n cut? i never could get them to cut properly with my scan n cut. they are made for cutting your own rubber stamps. thanks

I’m not sure what you mean by fly fishing die cuts Shelley. I always fly fishing dies were feathers etc bound with twine. Would you be able to give me and example of what you are looking for – a link or photo perhaps.
